Hello my dear blog readers! I am back with a review of one of the most raved K-beauty products on the blogosphere! I'm sure all of you have heard about it already, and if not, i'm glad i'm the one who's introducing you to it ^_^

  •   22 Global Beauty Award Winning Product

The clay mask is mostly suitable for people with excess sebum and oily skin, however I have read reviews of people with dry skin who also loved it. Generally, I personally think it's appropriate for most skin types, since it gives a deep cleanse to the pores, which is something everyone needs once in a while.

As most of you know, Innisfree has a 4-free-sysytem which means that their products don't have:

  • Mineral oils
  • Animal-originated ingredients
  • Artificial fragrances
  • Imidazolidinyl urea

Ingredients:
WATER, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, VOLCANIC ASH, GLYCERIN, SILICA, TREHALOSE, KAOLIN, BENTONITE, POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, ZINC OXIDE (CI 77947), GLYCERYL STEARATE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, JUGLANS REGIA (WALNUT) SHELL POWDER, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, PVP, PEG-100 STEARATE, POLYSORBATE 60, STEARIC ACID, PALMITIC ACID, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, XANTHAN GUM, IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH, SORBITAN STEARATE, POLYACRYLATE-13, MANNITOL, MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE, LACTIC ACID, POLYISOBUTENE, MENTHOXYPROPANEDIOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, TETRASODIUM PYROPHOSPHATE, POLYSORBATE 20, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL

Scent:
One of the great things about this clay mask is that it's fragrance free! So if you are sensitive to smell, this would be a good mask to go for.

Packaging:
As you can see from the photo above, the packaging of the product is very simplistic and nothing special. It's just a tub with the product inside, my only complaint is that it's not the most hygienic packaging choice, but if you use a spatula there shouldn't be a problem.

The tub comes with a plastic cap/seal kind of thing, I guess it's to protect the product and decrease the chances of bacteria growing in it.

It also doesn't come with  an applicator or a spatula, which makes it hard to get the clay out (especially if you've got your nails done)

Performance:
I really enjoy this mask! I feel like it really refreshes my skin, specially when I feel like my pores are clogged and clumped with dirt. It dries relatively fast, and leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple once I wash it off.

How I Use It:
I like to use the mask about once a week, and I always use a sheet mask after the clay mask, which I definitely advise you to do. This is because when you wash off the clay mask, your skin will be freshly exfoliated and your pores will better absorb whatever you apply on your face next. A deep cleanse of the pores is essential for healthy skin, which is why I like to use it at least once a week, but excess use will strip all the natural oils that your skin also needs, so I wouldn't use it more than 2/3 times a week.

Effects:
I'm going to be honest, I don't use the clay mask as much as I should, which might be the reason for the fact that I haven't noticed much change in terms of pore tightening and face brightening in the long term, even though it does show these effects as soon as I rinse it off. However, I can assure you that it has a cooling effect and aids control the sebum :D

Consistency:
It's just like clay. Pretty thick but still easy to spread around the skin.

Pros:
-Affordable (Around 15USD )
-Aids sebum control
-Refreshes skin
-Deep cleanses
-Helps absorption of sheet masks/toners/serums/emulsions
-4-free-system
-Leaves skin feeling smooth and bright

Cons:
-Unhygienic packaging
-Long term effects weren't very noticeable on me

Conclusion:
Recommend? Yes! Repurchase? Yes! There is a reason as to why this is a cult favourite amongst korean beauty and skincare followers. It lives up to its rave, and for the price you pay for, it is definitely worth a try.

Score
8/10
