Review: HM Color Essence Eye Cream

6:12 PM

Hello guys! Today's highlight is a product from a new cosmetic line, H&M's "The Beauty Department" eyeshadow!!! If you've seen my HAUL you know I went crazy when I went to H&M and saw their finally launched beauty department, so i'm super excited for today's review ^_^

Product Description and Claims:
A luxurious cream-to-powder eyeshadow with a silky mousse texture and pure, intense colors. Quick drying for effortless application. 0.15 fl.oz. How to use: Using a brush or your fingertip, dab gently onto eyelid and blend as desired. Wear over eye primer for even more vivid, lasting results. Tighten cap to prevent product from drying out when not in use

I got the shadow in shade Countess, which is a beautiful rose gold with tints of nude colour.

Price:
6.99 USD. It is actually very affordable, considering the fact that it doesn't lack in quality.

Packaging:
The packaging is elegant and minimalistic. It comes in a small tube (just like other mono eyeshadows) and the lid is white with gold text.

Colour:
Now, I want you all to know that THE CAMERA ISN'T DOING THIS COLOUR JUSTICE! This cream eyeshadow looks MUCH pinkier in real life.

Swatches:
These swatches are a bit more loyal to the actual colour of the cream eyeshadow. Left one is with no flash, and the right one is with flash. As you can see, they have a slight shimmer, but nothing on the glittery side.

Pigmentation:
This eyeshadow has reasonable pigmentation, probably a little bit on the sheer side for a usual cream eyeshadow (but maybe its because the colour is very nude.) However, I don't think you will have a problem with the opacity of the eyeshadow, since it is a cream shadow after all.

Texture:
UH!! I cannot describe how much I love the texture of this product. It glides on super smooth like butter!! Super silky!

Longevity:
I've never worn this eyeshadow without a primer, but using my Proof10 Primer, this eyeshadow easily stays on the whole day. Since its so creamy, I really do advise you guys to wear a primer underneath this product, since it's like to slip and slide if you don't-

If there is one thing I absolutely suck at, it's taking pictures of my eyes to showcase makeup, so these photos were the best I could do. The shadow shows up very sheer, but its actually slightly more pigmented in real life. Also, I took pictures in different lightings for you guys to have a better idea of what the eyeshadow looks like.

Pros:
-Affordable
-Beautiful colour
-Silky smooth texture
-Stays on whole day with primer
-Elegant and simple packaging

Cons:
-Not the most pigmented
-Due to its creamy texture, it probably slips and smudges itself without a primer

Conclusion
Recommend? Yes, why not? It's super affordable, definitely worth a try! Repurchase? Yes, i'm definitely going back to buy more shades.
Overall, it's a definite bang for the buck! The quality isn't bad at all, and the colour range is absolutely mesmerising. The texture is amazing and reminds me of high-end cream shadows.

Score
9/10
